Support Dmitri’s Journey to Recovery
Dmitri recently underwent a serious medical crisis, sudden onset of transverse myelitis caused by severe spinal stenosis; transverse myelitis is an inflammation of the spinal cord that can cause symptoms like weakness and intense sensory changes, while spinal stenosis is the narrowing of the spinal canal that can lead to nerve compression, signaling issues and pain. His particular symptoms include, umbilical hernia, allodynia, paresthesia, and dysesthesia, amongst others.
This resulted in two emergency spinal surgeries, march 13th and 19th, and has left D disabled having lost much of the strength of his hands and legs impacting his hand use and mobility. While D hopes to recover strength and mobility over time, the recovery for this is 6 months to a year, and as you may imagine these disabilities leave him unable to perform the most vital aspects of his work as a picture framer at his store Middletown Framing, celebrating 18 years as its current owner and the 51st anniversary of the shop itself.
Dmitri has given permission to do this GoFundMe for support with living expenses for himself and his son for the next 6 months to a year as he recovers and determines the direction of this next chapter of his life. The money raised will be used for rent, bills, food, and necessary living expenses while he recovers.
