On May 6, 2026, A devastating tornado tore through Bogue Chitto, MS, and unfortunately Dmell Burnes’s home was directly in its path. In a matter of minutes, Dmell went from the safety of their living room to losing everything they owned. While we are incredibly grateful that everyone made it out safely, the reality of what’s left is heartbreaking.
Their home is gone, and they’ve lost their clothes, furniture, and vehicle along with all family sentimental items.
Why we are asking for help: Dmell is the kind of person who also works very hard to support his family. Now, they are the ones who need a hand.
Immediate needs are overwhelming. We are raising funds to help cover: Immediate housing: Deposit for a rental or temporary hotel stays. Basics: Replacing lost clothes, toiletries, and groceries.
