Hi everyone! My name is D’Laylah, and I am very excited to share that I have been accepted into a summer study abroad program through CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) in Rome, Italy! Studying abroad has been a dream of mine since middle school, and this program would be an amazing opportunity for me to explore a new culture, expand my education academically, and gain valuable experiences.

I am a 3.7 GPA student majoring in a Culinary Arts program at technical high school. I currently have an internship at an upscale hotel in my area. As a culinary student, studying in Italy, a country known for its rich culinary traditions would be invaluable to me. I also have been a heavily active officer of my school's Future Business Leaders of America chapter since my freshman year, and placed at states last school year.

I was fortunate enough to receive a small grant, but I still need to raise $8,000 to cover my tuition by April 15—not including travel expenses such as the flight.

This experience means so much to me, not only academically, but personally. I will be able to step outside of my comfort zone, immerse myself in a new environment, and grow in ways that will help me as I enter adulthood. If you are able to donate, I would be beyond grateful.
