DJ & Elizabeth have been married for 4 years. They met in the Navy while stationed in Diego Garcia. They were both Air Traffic Controllers. DJ served for five years and has recently reenlisted in the Navy Reserves to serve as a corpsman (medic). Elizabeth served for 6 years and is a disabled Veteran.

DJ is currently employed as a medical assistant at a local hospital. Elizabeth is attending school on the GI Bill and is going to be a teacher.

Me, I’m Elizabeth’s dad. When DJ got out of the Navy, he followed Elizabeth to her next duty station in San Diego. Wedding bells were already in the air, and he told her that he would move to San Diego with her as long as when she got out, she would move back to Texas with him.

My wife and I planned to wait two years and then move from PA to TX, but we just couldn’t do it. We also have a daughter named Emilie, Elizabeth is her best friend. With Sissy out of the Navy, we knew it was time to get our family back together. With Sissy gone for six years, it was hard to find anyone to help us with Emilie and we are not getting any younger. But the BIG reason, and the reason I am writing to you today is we could not wait to have grandkids.

DJ and Elizabeth have been trying for two years, with no success. DJ was blessed to get a job with benefits that would pay for IVF. The issue is that even with insurance their part of the treatment is $1800 and about another $2000 in required medicine. It breaks my heart that I just can’t bless them with the money, but I am the bread winner for Momma, Emilie, and our adult son Frank who is also disabled (heart).

I have only known DJ for 8 years, but as Elizabeth’s dad I cannot express in words how caring and loving she is (she gets that from her Momma). Her heart’s desire is to be a Momma. She has a heart for Veterans, children, and animals and will do without to do for them.

We are a family of believers and have done our best to bless others whenever we have had the opportunity. We are hoping that some of you reading this are either special needs families or have struggled with infertility. If you have, Sissy and DJ would greatly appreciate anything you choose to bless them with, and if you are not in a position to give, we would appreciate your prayers that DJ and Elizabeth have peace in spite of their circumstances and the process.
