Hi, my name is Ashley and I’m starting this to support my best friend Allison to raise funds to help Divi. Allison is absolutely the most selfless person you will ever meet.
Her heart, mind and soul are completely invested in rescuing dogs in Aruba who have been abandoned, malnourished, left to wander the streets injured and sick. The impact she has had in Aruba is immense. From trapping (rescuing) to raising donations to getting all the dogs needs met from vet visits, dog essentials, food, medicine, shelter, etc Allison has done it all and continues to show up and make it happen. She visits Aruba almost every 3 months and physically gets out there and does all the hard work others don’t want to do. She has a heart of gold and if she could she would keep all of them.
Three and a half years ago when she was on vacation in Aruba she was staying at the Divi All Inclusive and a couple days into her trip she was were walking around and decided to go to a coffee shop next to the hotel. Divi was there laying down and from there on she went to visit her twice a day to bring her food. She was sleeping under cars and in the dirt. When she would show up she had the biggest smile and would wag her tail. She was so happy and excited to see her. She started messaging in Aruba pages about how to bring home a dog and she got in touch with a woman who connected me to Mirian. Mirian and Mercedes went to get Divi and bring her to the vet. She got all her shots and then went to a foster for a few days. She flew out of Aruba and into Florida where she was picked up and driven up to RI. She picked her up on September 22 2022.
She was diagnosed with lymphoma last December. And since then she’s been in chemo. She went into remission for a few months and then relapsed in September. The med has been changed twice and now this is our last option. It’s a drug called Tanovea. It’s supposed to be 60-70% effective and it will put her into remission hopefully if not first dose but second dose. The doctor said it’s 4-5 cycles. She has insurance but it only covers 80% and the first dose of treatments her insurance ran out so she has to pay out of pocket for 3 treatments (3k) on top of all the other treatments that weren’t covered.
Please from the bottom of my heart any amount is appreciated to help Divi get her treatments and relieve Allison of any financial burdens. No amount is too small or too big. If anyone deserves the help, it’s her.
Thank you, and God Bless!
