Support Diva’s Emergency Pyometra Surgery
My dog Diva is my entire world. She’s a 23-month-old Australian Shepherd. She's smart, athletic, outgoing, and usually full of energy. A few weeks ago, I signed her up for pet insurance because I knew money would be tight going forward. The policy had a 14-day waiting period… and heartbreakingly, Diva became extremely sick three days before that waiting period ended.
No one could have predicted this. Pyometra, which is a life-threatening uterine infection, is incredibly rare in young dogs, especially her age and breed. Even our veterinarian said how unusual this was. I had planned to get Diva spayed in January since her contract from the breeder prohibited spaying before the age of 2.
Over the last week, Diva has had multiple vet visits, emergency care, medications, imaging, and now an emergency spay surgery to save her life. I’m doing everything I can for her, but the bills have already reached over $1,500, and I had to finance most of it. I’m now facing payments every other week on top of normal living expenses, and I’m struggling to keep up.
I’ve never been someone who asks for help, but realize I kind of need help to make sure she gets the care she deserves. Every dollar truly makes a difference, even just sharing the link.
Thank you for reading, for caring about Diva, and for helping us through something I never imagined we’d face at her age. ❤️
