Update as of September 1st: We managed to secure an apartment (with a lot of help from our community) but we still need help with moving costs, as well as some kind of buffer for first month's rent while some of us are waiting for our first paychecks. We're hoping to get a uhaul for two different days a week apart. The uhaul rental is $30 +$1.09 per mile, so we're looking at around $120 for those two days. Anything is helpful! We are currently seeking funds to secure housing or a rental situation in Monroe County, NY.

Hello all! My name is Rowan Peters and I am raising funds to secure a permanent living situation for myself and my two partners and my partner's partner. We are four disabled queer people located in Rochester NY/ Syracuse NY. Our current living situation has become unstable and we are finding ourselves needing to secure affordable housing as soon as we are able to in Monroe County, NY.

This feels like the most major ask from our community we have ever considered, but we are stuck at a financial wall. We are very limited currently in terms of income as each of us navigate disability and prioritizing our mental health. We are all working on this in different ways. All four of us in our central polycule are trying to balance mental health, work, physical ailments, and chronic illness on a daily basis. Having unstable housing is a major barrier for our health and sense of safety. We're all doing the best we can, we just need help to secure housing because this is bigger than us.

That being said, it'll be a much longer journey if we try to do it on our own, and we know we need help from any resources we can find. Your help is appreciated even if it is simply positive energy sent our way. I believe the universe has a safe space in mind for us, somewhere, somehow, someway.

Any and all funds will be used to secure housing for the four of us. Our long-term goal is to raise enough to purchase a single or double wide trailer somewhere in Monroe County with a lot rent that will be affordable for us long term. Many mobile home sales are cash only, and this is why our goal is set so high. Additionally mobile homes in our budget are often in horrible condition. Gettijg to a livable price point is a dream of ours. Any funds received in completion of or excess of our goal will go towards payment of trailer / down payment for trailer, moving costs, basic living expenses, and future lot rent.

Edit to add: The gofundme has not gained much traction so we may be looking more immediately to rent an apartment in Rochester. Any funds we secure via this gofundme would then go to down payment for a rental situation as well as rent payments.

We must remain in Monroe County or risk losing connection to and ability to see our health care teams. Staying local to Rochester is also important to us as much of our found family is here.
