Support disabled community member in crisis

Our friend and community member Jean is currently experiencing an extreme mental health crisis, and we are hoping to provide support to get them on their feet. Many of us know Jean for their passionate, tireless advocacy for social justice and for standing up for the most vulnerable members of our community, especially those who experience discrimination. Jean is facing charges due to Bloomington PD's inability to respond appropriately to mental health crises—while Jean posed a danger to no one and was severely ill, they were arrested and held without the possibility of bail. We are family and community members who want to help them stabilize, receive adequate mental health support, and regain safety in their life. Expenses will go towards mental health care, potential legal fees, housing costs, food, and other necessary survival expenses.
