Hello humanity. My name is Jen and I reside in Northern California.

My beautiful friend Dina is displaced in Egypt, along with her parents Khaled and Mervat. Her other siblings are still in Gaza, Palestine.

A Message to You from Dina:

“My name is Dina, a young woman from Gaza, currently living in Egypt with my mother and father—while my siblings remain trapped in Gaza.

Like many families in Gaza, we suffered greatly during the war—displacement after displacement, hunger, fear, and illness. My mother became critically ill and needed urgent surgery. In late April 2024, when the border between Gaza and Egypt briefly opened, my father and I accompanied her to Egypt for her operation, leaving my younger siblings behind with our grandparents, hoping we’d return soon.

But soon after we crossed, the borders closed completely. What was meant to be a short medical trip turned into a painful, indefinite separation. It's now been over a year since I last saw my siblings.

My mother underwent a major surgery to replace three neck vertebrae with carbon implants, and she’s still undergoing physical therapy and treatment. The emotional toll of being away from her children has only made her recovery harder.

My father, now nearly 60 years old, has exhausted every bit of savings to cover the cost of her surgery, our rent, and daily living. He is struggling. I am a first-year university student majoring in Media and Communication, and I dream of continuing my studies—but our circumstances are becoming unbearable.

This campaign is a plea from my heart:

•To help us cover medical treatment and medication for my mother.

•To support my siblings who are still in Gaza, facing hunger and fear without us.

•To help us pay rent and avoid losing our home in Egypt.

•And to allow me to continue my university education and secure a better future for my family.

Your kindness can bring a broken family back together. Your support can ease a father’s burden, comfort a sick mother, feed hungry children, and give a young girl hope.

Message from Jen (Manager of Campaign):

I am extremely honored and humbled to be asked by Dina and her family to manage their campaign. I fell in love with them many months ago and feel that I have now gained a second family. I will be managing their page and distributing donated funds to them as they navigate the next steps in reuniting with the rest of their children and siblings. Although safe from bombs and gunfire, they have lost absolutely everything: their home, jobs and personal possessions, all the while being separated from the ones they love. Dina is determined to continue her education and with our support and encouragement, her dream is more than possible!
