Support Dilton's Fight for Asylum and Freedom

I met Dilton a few months ago at the Van Nuys Day Labor Center. Unfortunately, he was taken while on his way to get breakfast early morning on January 23rd. Discriminated against for how he looks, he was taken to Adelanto and has been there since.

Dilton has always been respectful and kind— even calling me "miss" every time, out of politeness. And every long conversation we've had, I get to know Dilton more and more and I can honestly say he deserves so much more than what this world has given him.

While I can sit here and write all the terrible things he's gone through since early childhood (as trauma unfortunately tends to get more views/shares), I'd prefer to share all the amazing things I've learned about him and how he's doing his best to better himself and his community.

Dilton's been working on becoming a certified electrician and is only a few classes away from getting his Associates degree. But he's not selfish with the knowledge he's gained— he started teaching other day laborers what he's learned so they too can know another skill (which you can see his lesson still on the white board at the labor center, almost a month after being taken).
His kindness and will to give to others doesn't stop there; he's given his bus pass to a person who needed it; he's encouraged people to get an education; he's gone out of his way to provide rides to people; and even in ICE detention, he's supporting and encouraging people to get their GED... I can go on and on about what a nice person Dilton is, but I'll stop there to ask for your support.

Since the day I found out he was taken, I've been worried for his safety as I knew being deported to El Salvador would be a death sentence for him. Luckily, he now has an asylum case open. So I'm hoping we can all come together to raise funds for his legal fees and raise enough funds for his bond once that's set. And while I've become his only support, I know that through community we can show him he's not alone nor forgotten. ❤️

Any amount and share is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
