Support Dilon's Fight Against Heart Failure

Hi everyone,

My name is Summer, and I’ve created this fundraiser to support my husband, Dilon, who is currently battling advanced heart failure. His condition requires ongoing medical care, medications, and supplements, and the financial burden continues to grow.

Dilon is only 31 years old. Just last year, he was living a normal, active life as a loving father to our two boys, Ryder (9) and Kashton (7). In July 2024, he became seriously ill after contracting COVID, which progressed into pneumonia and bronchitis. Despite our hopes, he never fully recovered.

By October 2nd, 2024, his health had declined so much that he was hospitalized. He had developed jaundice, severe fluid buildup, and was struggling to breathe day and night. That’s when we received the devastating diagnosis: left-sided heart failure with an ejection fraction of just 20–25%, which means his heart is functioning at a severely reduced capacity. We also learned he has stage 3 liver fibrosis—making everything even more complex and fragile.

We never imagined being in a position where we’d need to ask for help. But here we are—doing everything we can to fight for Dilon’s life and hold our little family together. A recent scan revealed that his heart is still functioning at only 25% and is now dilated with valve regurgitation. His cardiologist has referred him to the UCSD Advanced Heart Failure Center to be evaluated for a heart transplant—just in case things continue to decline.

Despite the heartbreak, we are holding onto hope. We’re also doing everything possible on our end, including working with functional medicine doctors to seek deeper healing and testing beyond what conventional care offers. These treatments are not covered by insurance and come with significant costs—but we believe they are a crucial part of his healing journey.

In the midst of all this, I started a small business called Natural Gateway to try and create a sustainable income to help support Dilon and cover some of our growing expenses. I’ve poured my heart into creating non-toxic, natural products for families like ours—but so far, the business has not yet made enough to help in the way I hoped. We’ve been together for nearly 11 years. I was only 17 when I became pregnant with our first son. Dilon has been my partner, my best friend, and my rock ever since. The thought of losing him—and becoming a widow and single mother at just 28—is beyond words. I’m doing everything I possibly can to save him.
