Dillon Kent Mathis has been my friend for 12 years, and right now, he needs our help more than ever. While enjoying bike week in Florida, Dillon was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. He is currently in the hospital, intubated, and kept sedated. His dad flew down to Florida to be with him and has been sharing updates with us. The doctors only bring Dillon off sedation briefly to check his neurological responses. He does not wake up, but he does respond to pain.
Dillon has already undergone surgery on his back, and there are more surgeries ahead for his left wrist, right humerus, pelvis, and possibly his mandible. He also has a traumatic brain injury, and the medical team is closely monitoring him for any changes. The road to recovery will be long and uncertain, and Dillon will need a lot of support along the way. Dillon’s family is doing everything they can to stay strong, but this is almost too much to bear.
The funds raised here will go directly toward Dillon’s medical bills, travel expenses for his family between Florida and Tennessee, and all the unexpected costs that come with such a serious accident far from home. We are so grateful for any support you can offer—whether it’s a donation, a prayer, or simply sharing Dillon’s story. Please keep Dillon and his family in your thoughts as we hope for a miracle and the best possible recovery. Thank you for standing with us during this incredibly difficult time. I have permission from Dillon's dad to create this fundraiser.
