Dillon Vein went into the hospital expecting a routine gallbladder surgery. What should have been a standard procedure quickly turned into our family's worst nightmare. Due to devastating complications, Dillon developed sepsis and other life-threatening conditions that compromised multiple organs, including his lungs. Right now, he is fighting for his life in the Intensive Care Unit. Dillon is on a ventilator, dialysis, and an ECMO machine, relying entirely on life support to give his body the chance to heal. The road ahead is uncertain. Doctors have shared that it is unknown how long Dillon will need ECMO support, and they have even discussed the potential of a lung transplant. His care team is now considering sending him to Harbor View in Seattle for more specialized life support care. Even in the best case scenario, when Dillon is strong enough to come home, he will face several months of intense rehabilitation and recovery. While Dillon fights for his life, his wife Shelby has not left his side. She has been at the hospital constantly, advocating and supporting him every moment she can. Because of this sudden tragedy, Shelby has been unable to work. With Dillon unable to work as well, their family currently has no income. The financial burden is mounting quickly – medical bills, house payment, lodging in Seattle, and everyday household expenses continue despite this crisis. The stress of wondering how to cover basic needs is overwhelming during an already unimaginable time. We are asking for your help to support Dillon, Shelby, and their kids as they navigate this long and uncertain journey. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, house payment, lodging in Seattle, and essential living expenses to help carry them through the months ahead. Most importantly, we ask for your prayers, love, and support as Dillon continues to fight. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any contribution you are able to give and for standing by our family during this darkest hour.
