Hello, Diesel came to me in June 2024 by someone posting on Facebook that he needed a new home. He looked super skinny; I didn’t realize how skinny he truly was until I met him in person. He was very scared and timid but not mean. The reason the previous owners no longer wanted him was because he was 8 months old and tried to kill their kitten, which he bows down to my cat and loves her dearly. I got him into the vet in late July or early August to find out he’s not a puppy. He is a severely malnourished 3-5 year old boy who just wants a good home and love. He was tested and came back with 5 different kinds of worms and Lyme disease. We treated him, and he still has Lyme. Also, he gained 10 pounds.
Well, Thursday around 2am, he threw up his dinner and ever since then, he’s thrown up a pile of blood a day, hasn’t eaten, and has barely drank water. I could not get him into my vet as they are closed Fridays and weekends. Emergency vet is too expensive. So Monday comes around. My vet saw him but cannot X-ray because I was told they won’t do payments with me. His red blood count should be 32, and it’s between 16-17. So he needed a blood transfusion. That alone cost $1,500. I work every single day, and I simply just cannot afford to pay up front that kind of money. I work in a local nursing home as a receptionist, but I put my hands in a little bit of everything as I am a very friendly, kind, and caring person. I love my animals, and I don’t wanna see him suffer. After the visit, he has started peeing blood. If I cannot come up with money to get X-rays and a blood transfusion to figure out what is causing this internal bleeding, I am going to lose him sadly. If you can help with payments, PLEASE help.
