My name is Delora Acosta, and I am creating this fundraiser for my son, Diego Apodaca, who many of his Facebook friends know as Kevin Donut. Diego is 45 years old and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in November 2025. Since that diagnosis, the disease has steadily progressed and changed so much in his daily life. When his symptoms first became visible, Diego was working full time at St. Vincent Hospital. Over the last several months, however, the progression of Parkinson’s has made it impossible for him to continue in that role. He has lost the ability to walk on his own, now relies on a walker, and may need to transition to a wheelchair in the future.
As Parkinson’s continues to affect Diego and our household, we are doing our best to manage the emotional, physical, and financial challenges that come with this diagnosis. Diego is now struggling to keep up with both medical and everyday living expenses, and we do not yet know what kind of assistance may become available through the state or government or how long that process may take. During this uncertain time, we are asking for support to help ease some of that burden and give Diego the care and stability he needs.
If you feel moved to bless Diego with a donation, it would mean so much to our family. Any amount helps, and sharing this fundraiser with others is also a meaningful way to support him. Thank you for taking the time to read Diego’s story, for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers, and for any kindness you are able to offer. Our family is deeply grateful. God bless.
