On 11/4/25, Diane Weinbrandt had a stroke in Cahuita, Costa Rica. She travelled to Costa Rica pursuing her dream of running an Airbnb of 3 Cositas. The stroke has left her paralyzed on her right side with no use of her right leg and arm. She is currently staying in a local hospital in San Jose receiving basic care and testing.

In order to best support her on her journey to what we hope and pray is a full recovery, her family is trying to fly her back to Ohio for more extensive rehabilitation. It will cost approximately $15,000 - $20,000 to have a medical escort travel with her from a hospital in Costa Rica to rehabilitation facility in Ohio.
