My name is Steve Hansen, and I am writing on behalf of my mother Diane Hansen, who is currently in a skilled nursing facility. As a life-long preschool teacher my mother was always a caretaker; now I find myself in a position of taking care of her needs as best as possible.

Diane is in her 80's and was saved after "Coding Blue" in emergency care recently. She has advanced congestive heart failure and dementia, and my wish is that she lives out her remaining days in dignity with the care and support she deserves after dedicating her life to others. I believe that our community will be there for her like she was there for myself and my sister, family and friends, and generations of students.

I am raising money because her insurance from teaching only covers so much of the cost in her current care facility, so any amount donated is so deeply appreciated. My family and I have contributed and continue to do so to the best of our ability to pay for her ongoing advanced care of which she will live her remaining days in a skilled nursing facility.
