My name is Phaedra, I am posting this fundraiser for my grandma, Diane Duffey.

Diane has recently been diagnosed with limited stage, small cell lung cancer. This diagnosis has absolutely rocked our tight knit family. The facts of this diagnosis are very concerning and the journey that lies ahead isn't an easy one, but I admire so much the strength, grace and attitude my grandma has met this with.

Diane is a devoted and loving mother, grandmother who has also helped raised many children in Watauga and Avery counties over the years! As a past member of the Children's Council, director of multiple daycares, and lovingly opening up her home daycare, D's House, that she ran in Boone. Her life has been passionately devoted to early childhood development and nurturing countless children.

She enjoys being an active member of the Mitchell County Senior Center.

She is set to begin aggressive chemo, as well as radiation treatment in Asheville NC. Diane is retired, on a limited income,

and lives in Mitchell County. She will face medical bills for her treatment, as well as travel expenses due to needing to stay close to the hospital when receiving treatment multiple days a week.

Your support will help her stay on top of her living expenses, medical care and be able to stay near hospital during treatment.
