Diana Groters and I have been friends since we were neighbors over 20 years ago. Recently, Diana received the difficult news that she has myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma, a rare cancer that affects only about 1% of adults and is likely caused by a genetic mutation. While the cancer has a low chance of spreading, it unfortunately has a high rate of coming back. This week, Diana will undergo surgery to remove her dominant thumb and part of her thumb pad down to the wrist. Next week, she will need another surgery to graft skin from her thigh to cover the area.

Diana is also diabetic, and although her diabetes is well managed, it means her healing process will take longer. She will not be able to work with that hand for some time and will need physical therapy, as well as learn to use her less dominant hand for daily tasks. We are hopeful that, in time, she will be able to get a prosthetic thumb to help her regain some independence.

We are asking for healing prayers and support for Diana and her family as they face these challenges. Any help you can give will go toward her daily needs, medical expenses, and the future prosthetic. Diana is a kind and generous person who has always been there for her friends and family, and now I want to do this for her. Thank you for considering a donation to help Diana on her journey to recovery.
