Support Diana's Fight Against Homelessness

Diana Peterson is a single mom raising an autistic 22-year old son who is currently applying for SSDI benefits but there are no benefits available as yet, Diana’s unemployment has run out, and the family has received an eviction notice. I first came in contact with Diana through mutual friends and have just started to read her wonderful dissertation on Manoomin (wild rice) among the Menominee and Ojibwe Nations (University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2024). Only friends with PhD’s who have struggled on the job market will be able to appreciate some of the circumstances in which she finds herself. Only mothers with children will be able to appreciate other aspects. And only Native people who have played by all of the “rules” of the colonizer society only to see doors shut in their faces still other aspects. For whatever you can understand, please contribute.
