Hi, my name is Diana Sigman. I am twenty-nine years old and I am happily married with two beautiful children, Ophelia, 7, and Jasper, 5.

Last January, I found a lump, the size of a grain of rice, in my right breast. Over time, the mass grew larger quickly and was causing a lot of pain. I then went to a women’s doctor to be seen for it. I was told it was a fibroadenoma after having an ultrasound. I was advised to eat rose oil and fennel for the pain and that there was no dire reason to get it removed.

With my pain unbearable and the mass still growing, I decided to get a second opinion. Now with my current breast doctor, she reviewed the previous doctor's findings and didn’t like what she saw and wanted to schedule a biopsy for August 6. After her findings with the biopsy, she called immediately and told me cancer cells were seen. After many scans (CT, MRI, Bone, and Joint), I have been diagnosed with Stage 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer with it metastasizing to my nearby lymph nodes.

We are completely uninsured and do not qualify for almost all financial assistance.

I will have chemotherapy for the next six months in two different stages. Following chemo, I will have a full mastectomy done and lymph nodes removed with a possible reconstruction. Once I am done with that, I will have one full month of radiation every day to ensure all the cancer cells are gone since it did make its way to my lymph nodes.
