Support Diana M. Hadley's Memorial and Cremation

My name is Laurel Schmidtknecht and I'm wanting to raise funds for my mother, Diana M. Hadley's, memorial and cremation funds.

My mom passed away Monday, 5/5/25 at Mayo Hospital at La Crosse peacefully under hospice care.

She had been living with COPD/emphysema for years and the last 4 months became excruciating for her. Multiple hospitalizations and a fast decline in her physical health and breathing.

She had her advance directive and planned paperwork signed for years to have her body donated to science, specifically to be sent to U of W in Madison.

Unfortunately, yesterday they declined to take her body due to her being so underweight.

Our family is very upset at this because this was my mom's living and dying wish. She would be such a great case for students to study and learn on!!!

This leaves our family scrambling to get her out of the morgue and sent to a funeral home within the next 24 hours! There were no plans made to do this or money set aside as she was going to be donated to science.

I started the goal here lower than the actual costs at Coulee Cremation for a cremation + celebration of life at their facility which is $4600-$6700 for what we want.

We will cover anything not paid for.
