My name is Tali Ilkovitch and I am a musician from Seattle Washington. This is a fundraiser for my friend Diaa Zaharna and her husband Salama, who have three young children–Lana, Maha, and Allam. Every day they struggle to survive in Gaza and protect their children. The family lives in besieged northern Gaza with some of their extended relatives.

They used to live in their beautiful home by the seaside, which they maintained through her father-in-law, Allam Salama’s ice cream shop. Their home has now been heavily damaged by bombs, exposing them to the cold and rain in the winter and the heat and dust in the summer. Diaa often tells me about the bombings she hears through the night. Furthermore, Salama has an injured leg and several members of the family have medical conditions in need of treatment.

Diaa hopes to raise money to keep her children fed, sheltered, and enrolled in an educational program. She hopes to build funds for medical expenses and repairs to her home, or for evacuation and temporary shelter if necessary. Donating to helping them survive these horrific conditions is the first step to ensuring they have a future in their homeland once Palestine is free!
