The Dilworth Glyndon Felton School's Debate Program has been an important part of many students high school experience, teaching them real-life communication and public speaking skills as well as keeping them engaged with current events. Providing a foundation for an understanding of the importance of staying up to date in a world’s ever changing political climate both nationally and internationally. Apart from this it gives students the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities, outside of athletics. Unfortunately, the school is no longer funding the program, but they are open to allowing it to continue if we can raise the necessary funds from the community. This program has made a lasting impact on countless students, including myself. Helping them develop confidence and skills that will serve them well beyond graduation. This year, we need to raise enough to cover travel expenses, tournament fees, and coaching for the entire debate season. Without this support, students will miss out on valuable opportunities to compete, learn, and grow. The program is dedicated to ensuring every student has the chance to participate, but we can't do it without your help. I invite everyone who has been touched by the DGF speech and debate program—or who believes in the power of these experiences—to donate, share, and spread the word or if you feel passionately to reach out to the school and advocate for this program as well as other academic extracurricular activities. Your support will help keep this vital program alive and give students the tools they need to succeed in school and beyond.
