Support Dezi's Journey to Kidney Transplant

Dear Family, Friends, and Community,

We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request for support for our beloved daughter, niece, cousin, friend; Deziree Love Del Toro, a bright and kind-hearted 12-year-old who has always been a quiet force both in life and on the softball field as an athlete.

On May 22, 2024, our world was turned upside down when Dezi was diagnosed with end-stage kidney failure after having a seizure out of the blue. The news was a devastating shock as she has been a healthy, happy, and fun-loving kid all her life. We have certainly felt God’s presence guiding us every step of the way, but it has not been an easy road. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers we’ve received from our friends and family since day one—your support has truly lifted us.

Since the diagnosis, Dezi has been undergoing dialysis, and next week, she has her first appointment at Stanford to begin the kidney transplant process. We know it's going to be a lengthy, arduous process, but we are doing everything to get our girl through this. Through it all, Dezi has shown remarkable strength, faith, and resilience, facing this tough journey with a positive spirit.

Unfortunately, the frequent trips to Valley Children’s Hospital and now adding Stanford, coupled with the costs of dialysis and the upcoming transplant, have put a significant financial strain on our family. As we focus on Dezi’s health and well-being, we find ourselves in need of additional support from our community.

We are humbly asking for your help. Any contribution, no matter the size, will be deeply cherished and will go directly towards Dezi’s medical expenses and care. Our goal is to see Dezi receive a transplant soon so that she can return to her “normal” self and continue to live the vibrant life she deserves.
