Dexter, my fiancé, was admitted to Baptist hospital on Sunday, May 17th, 2026, after experiencing severe leg pain. We soon learned he had a blockage in his aortic artery. During the night, Dexter suffered a heart attack and was rushed into surgery early Monday morning to have a stent put in. The doctors kept a close eye on him, but he continued to struggle with pain and shortness of breath. On Tuesday, he underwent another procedure for a second stent and received a temporary pacemaker. Since Sunday, Dexter has been in the Critical Care Unit and may need to stay for another week as he works toward recovery.

While Dexter is in the hospital, I am doing my best to keep up with work and maintain our home. This means paying bills, caring for his hunting dogs and horse, and making frequent trips back and forth to the hospital. The cost of gas is high right now, and every expense adds up quickly. It’s a lot to manage, but I am determined to support Dexter through this difficult time.
