Hello Morris Community, I'd like to reach out to tell you about an awesome Stallion, Dexter Rodriquez. Dexter like all 6th graders is growing, learning, and engaging with friends, teachers, family and the community he thrives in. Although he is a quiet guy he leaves a positive impression wherever he connects, and his positivity has spread throughout his time as a student in the McAllen School district.

Your children may have shared with you the unfortunate news that Dexter was suddenly faced with a diagnosis of T- Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. This was a shocking diagnosis, and he was immediately air-lifted to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. At that time, he was in critical condition and remained in the ICU for stabilization and diagnostic procedures. He is now in the Oncology Wing and starting Chemotherapy with his mother there to be his support. A flood of students and their families have inquired on how they can help and lessen the financial hardships of this unforeseen circumstance. Our hope is that with your help, Dexter and his family can focus solely on the fight ahead, and that his prognosis will lead to healing and peace. The last thing we want he or his family to be concerned about is how to pay for piling medical expenses.

Everyone here wants Dexter to know that although he cannot be here with us at this time, his community is serving him through all that he is enduring. We know you can beat this Dexter !
