Hi, this is Gabby (Destinie's sister) and I'm helping to raise money for Dewayne and Destinie to help with medical expenses. Dewayne is very sick and has been in the hospital for 4 weeks with pneumonia and complicated right parapneumonic pleural effusions. He had surgery late Monday night into Tuesday morning. The surgery took 5 hours and he lost a lot of blood. They did a VATS with a total lung Decortication of his right lung. After surgery he was moved to ICU for 3 days. He's still in the hospital and we're unsure when he'll be able to go home.

Now in recovery, he faces an uncertain road ahead, with at least six weeks before he can return to work, potentially longer. As the sole breadwinner in a family already struggling with health challenges, any assistance, no matter how small, would make a world of difference. Dewayne's kindness and generosity are well-known to all who know him, always ready to lend a helping hand with a smile on his face.
