My name is Dewayne Hood and I have been diagnosed with Essential Thrombocytosis. I am the single father of two boys.

Essential thrombocythaemia (ET) is a rare blood cancer that causes a high number of blood cells called platelets to form. These are blood cells involved in blood clotting.

During this time of uncertainty, I have felt unexplainable peace from the prayers and uplifting support of my friends and family.

I know God has His hands on me because I have just been approved for a clinical trial, which is a miracle due to the wait list.

However, this requires me to make trips to MD Anderson in Houston, TX every week for the first month, then every other week for 6 months, and after that, once a month for 5 years.

I am asking friends and family to consider supporting to help offset expenses such as fuel, hotels, meals, and medical bills.
