On November 12, 2024, my brother Devon—a loyal Air Force reservist and someone always willing to lend a hand—was struck in a horrific hit-and-run that turned his life upside down. The impact was so severe that it threw him over a guard railing, leaving him with a collapsed lung and damage to his internal organs and chest. He’s in the ICU now, and while doctors are hopeful they can remove his lung stent in the coming days, we’re still left with deep uncertainty about his medical coverage, as he isn’t currently activated as a reservist.

Devon has always been the one to take care of others, but now he’s the one in need. He faces months of recovery without the ability to work, and his medical bills alone are already unimaginable. With no income, he’s at risk of losing everything he’s worked so hard for—his beloved dog, his home, his education, and even the means to replace his car.
