My Journey to Sweden

              I like playing soccer because there is a lot of action. You always have to move. I used to play baseball but got bored of just standing around if the ball doesn’t come to me. For soccer, the only time the action stops is during halftime, throw ins, free kicks, penalty kicks or if there is an injury.  Even then, the time never stops, except at halftime.  I like how fast it moves.

              I am excited to go to Sweden so that I can go to another country and meet other kids that also like soccer from all over the world.  I have never gone to another country.  My dad is from Haiti and my mom is from India and there may be teams from those countries playing in Sweden.  Also, the skill level will increase because all the best players from each country will be going there. I want to improve my skills and prove that I can play with the best players in the world.  My team and I will work hard and try our best to represent AYSO South LA in Sweden.

              Finally, I heard that the sun is out most of the day in Sweden during the summer.  That will be so cool to see!!

Your Support Will Help AYSO Fund the Team's Trip

Your funding will go to support AYSO Region 1031 send its first 11U Boys Team to the Gothia Junior World Cup.  AYSO Region 1031 is non-profit organization that primarily serves South Los Angeles.  The team is comprised of 14 elite soccer players that have all played with AYSO in Select, All-Star or United Club divisions.  Specifically, your support will help fund the team's (1) uniforms, (2) tournament registration, (2) lodging, and (3) transportation.   All payments are Due by April 1st. 

Gothia Cup: The World Youth Cup

Gothia Cup is the world’s largest and most international youth soccer tournament. Each year, around 1700 teams from 80 nations take part and they play 4500 games on 110 fields. 

It’s the teams, and participants from around the world that make the tournament unique. A meeting place for the world’s youth, irrespective of religion, skin color or nationality, with football as the common denominator.

AYSO Region 1031: South LA United FC

AYSO South Los Angeles Region 1031 is a non-profit youth soccer organization. Our players come from neighborhoods throughout South Los Angeles.  Our Vision is to provide world class youth soccer programs that enrich children’s lives.  Our Mission is to develop and deliver quality youth soccer programs which promote a fun, family environment based on AYSO's Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development

South LA United FC has a roster of 14 elite players that are supported by AYSO Region 1031,  The team will be competing in the Gothia Junior World Cup July 2019 in Sweden.  Head coach Mike Estime, Assistant coach Bernie Ruiz, and Team Manager Dale Roberts are all affiliated with AYSO Region 1031.
