Hey yall,

My name is Vanny and I am a Housing Justice Organizer born and raised in Miami. I've been involved in activism/organizing work in Mithe city since 2019. In 2021 I began supporting low income tenants in learning their rights and defending themselves and their neighbors against abusive living conditions and landlords by organizing together to form grassroots campaigns and take action collectively. I am very passionate about supporting the empowerment and self-determination of oppressed and disenfranchised people in my city, I know this work is part of the mission I was put on this earth to do. With how the housing crisis in Miami continues to worsen, I feel more pressure mounting for me to continue to develop my skills and broaden my knowledge to better support the base of tenants I am organizing. I am so excited to be attending an international solidarity brigade this summer to the Caribbean to have a better understanding of what is happening globally and learn how that knowledge can better inform me in supporting the Caribbean and other immigrant tenants here in Miami. My fundraising goals will be used to cover flights food lodging and other travel expenses. I hope you can invest in me and my journey so I can bring the knowledge back to my organization and community.
