Detective Wilson has proudly served the Morrilton Police Department for eleven years. During that time, he has distinguished himself through hard work, dedication, and integrity, quickly earning the rank of Detective. Detective Wilson and his wife, Jenifer, are devoted parents to five children, who are truly the center of their world. Their youngest son, Benjamin, is a joyful, loving little boy who was born with Williams Syndrome. Benjamin requires ongoing medical care and specialized therapies, which have placed a significant financial burden on the Wilson family over the years.
Recently, the Wilson family was faced with yet another overwhelming challenge. Detective Wilson became seriously ill and has been on paid leave for several months, holding onto hope that he would recover and return to the job he loves in order to continue providing for his family. Sadly, he has now been diagnosed with Type II Trigeminal Neuralgia, a rare and debilitating condition that causes constant burning and aching facial pain, along with sudden, severe, electric-shock-like attacks. Detective Wilson is a proud and faithful man who would never ask for help for himself, and I will likely be in trouble for asking on his behalf. However, with Benjamin’s ongoing medical needs and the life-altering diagnosis Detective Wilson now faces, this family is struggling to keep up with expenses. The process of applying for disability benefits can be long and uncertain, leaving the Wilson family in an incredibly difficult position during this transition.
Like Detective Wilson, I do not like asking for help. But after witnessing everything he has given to the City of Morrilton and Conway County, it is clear that if there were ever a family deserving of this community’s support, it is the Wilson family. Any donation, prayer, or act of kindness would mean more to them than words can express.
