Donation protected
The International Union of Police Associations (I.U.P.A.) Local 6020 has unfortunately been made aware that Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) Detective Jim Hayes has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and is now in hospice care in the comfort of his own home. Detective Hayes, a 35-year veteran of law enforcement, has spent 19 years with BSO and currently works in BSO’s Homicide Unit, where he has worked for the past 9 years. Detective Hayes has prioritized his career behind keeping our society safe from the most violent offenders.
Detective Hayes and his wife, Kimberly, have been together for more than 30 years and they have 4 children.
Caitlin (28), Megan (24), James (22), and Erin (15).
As well as 4 grandchildren,
Laila (7), Caiden (4), Mason (1), and Emma (3 months old)
The I.U.P.A. Local 6020 humbly requests our members and members of our community to donate and help Detective Hayes and his family with the financial burden that comes with a difficult situation such as this.
