I first want to begin by thanking everyone for your thoughts and prayers we have received since this nightmare begin Monday, March 30, 2026.

Desteen’s life was forever changed when he became the victim of a senseless act of violence. Desteen was enjoying the beautiful spring weather on the porch of his residence, conversating with two of his friends, when a gunman approached and began firing shots at the three of them.

Desteen suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including serious injuries to his face and hand that require surgery. He faces a long recovery and is demonstrating remarkable strength and resilience.

Desteen’s mother and family have been by his side since this happened. We know that no one can prepare for a tragedy like this and we wanted to launch this to help reduce the financial burden on his loved ones. As his mother remains by his side, we want to assist her with essential living costs, including travel and lodging during his recovery, as well as his ongoing medical and rehabilitation expenses.

As previously mentioned, no one can prepare for a tragedy like this, but with the strength of our community, we can make a difference. Every donation, every share, and every prayer means the world to us.
