This is my dear friend—more like a sister and the mother of my goddaughter, Desta.

Many of you may come across this and think, “I’ve never seen her before.” And that’s because Desta is one of the most private people you’ll ever meet. In a world where everything is shared, she has always chosen to live quietly and I have respected that but I now have permission. She may have only posted a single photo her entire life—but she’s always been the one behind the camera, capturing memories for everyone else and to reflect later of fond moments with people she loves.

She is kind, intentional, and deeply present—the kind of person who shows up for others without ever asking for anything in return. She has been so positive , resilient and has carried this with grace. She gives Glory to God every single moment . She often says if this will bring my family and friends to Christ , I would do it all again.

Her journey began in April 2025, when she was diagnosed with Triple-Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage II breast cancer.

Completed 16 rounds of chemotherapy — while still working

December 8, 2025: Underwent a double mastectomy

January 27, 2026: Additional surgery

April 2026: Learned the cancer had returned under her left arm

April 23, 2026: Underwent urgent surgery

She will now begin radiation after healing and is exploring additional treatment options to prevent the cancer from returning again.

Since December 5, 2025, Desta has not been able to work.

So many people have reached out asking her how they can help. After feeling overwhelmed trying to respond, it was recommended to create a GoFundMe—because truthfully, this is what would help most right now, along with sincere prayers.

And knowing Desta, I knew she wouldn’t have the courage to post this herself—so I decided to do it for her.

We are hoping to raise $30,000 to help cover:

• Medical expenses

• Household expenses

• Child educational expenses
