Desmond's mother, Kara McVañner, passed away suddenly last Sunday in Eureka, Ca. This has been a heartbreaking and life-changing event for Desmond, who is just 15 years old. In the wake of this loss, Desmond will be relocating to live with me, his father, in Chico, CA. The transition is not only emotionally challenging, but also comes with significant financial burdens as we work to bring some stability and comfort to Desmond during this difficult time.

There are many expenses involved in moving all of Desmond and Kara's belongings from their house and storage to Chico. We will need to rent a truck, cover gas and travel expenses for a couple of days, and pay for storage here until Desmond is ready to go through everything. We also hope to bring Kara's van to Chico so Desmond can have it when he gets his license. On top of the moving costs, Desmond will need supplies for school and to help him settle into his new home.

We really appreciate the love and support you all have already shown. Desmond is doing as well as can be expected, and we are taking things one day at a time. Any help you can offer would mean so much to us as we navigate this new chapter. Thank you for being there for Desmond and our family.
