My sweet nephew’s life change in an instant. While at work, he suddenly began experiencing severe chest pain. His supervisor quickly called EMS and he was rushed to the hospital. What we thought might be something minor turned out to be for more serious than we could have imagined. His condition was so critical that he had to be transported from Kalamazoo to The Grand Rapids Specialized Hospital Corewell Health. His cardiac procedures required advanced emergency care. In the first five days, he has endured four major surgeries. He is still fighting for his life and every day feels like a battle. This campaign is for Desmond, who is the kindest, most 

 helpful and generous person you could meet. This has been heartbreaking beyond words. His mother Spring Stokes has been there by his side. She is living near the hospital to be close to him. The mounting medical expenses combined with the loss of wages because of his conditions has placed a heavy burden on his family.
