Desiree is a 19-year-old young woman who is outgoing, kind-hearted, and full of determination. Recently, her life changed suddenly when she was hospitalized and diagnosed with a rare autoimmune neurological condition. What started as unexplained symptoms quickly turned into extensive testing, hospital stays, and ongoing specialty care.

Desiree is currently navigating a condition that affects her nervous system and requires close monitoring, advanced imaging, and long-term treatment. As part of her recovery and care, she now needs additional medical support at home, including a wheelchair and other medical home equipment, along with frequent travel to specialty appointments and follow-up care.
