No parent should ever have to endure the unimaginable heartbreak of the loss of one of their children… losing a second child is incomprehensible, but sadly that is the heartbreaking reality for Desiraes parents, Ray Wooten and Candy Watson Thompkins.

Desirae lost her courageous battle with Von Hippel-Lindau disease (VHL) and Renal carcinoma on October 31, 2025.

Just three years ago, they also had to endure the heartbreaking loss of Desiraes sister D’errica to the same disease.

No family should have to face such an unimaginable loss twice, nor the financial strain that follows. The cost of end of life care and arrangements are overwhelming and we’re asking our community to come together in love and support for Desirea’s family during this difficult time.
