July 2, 2024 my 20-year old son, Desean, was taken from family and friends due to a senseless act, by the hands of another, that should’ve never happened and surely could have been prevented (the Winter Haven, FL shooting).

Desean had such a great smile and his laughter was contagious. He had the most amazing relationship and bond with his older sister Taija and was his younger brothers Jaydon’s keeper. He always wanted to help others or be a part of something. This loss affects so much more than me losing a son. It’s losing a piece of myself, my family losing the glue that held us together, and all those that knew and loved him are losing the significance he brought in all of our lives. In light of this tragedy please continue to keep everyone in your prayers. Family and friends appreciate all the love and support you are providing to us during this devestating time.
