Hello!

Our friend Derik Hodson needs our support. Derik, a man so many of us call one of our best friends. Derik, the guy who throws the best Travers parties around. Derik, the spitter of rhymes and the bane of anyone trying to actually hear lyrics being sung at a show… but HIS lyrics are way funnier so we usually give him a pass. If you know him, you love him. If you don’t know him, let's keep him around so you can get to know him!! He is one of the funniest, smartest, craziest, awesomest humans you will ever know. We love him and he needs our help, and so we ask for yours.

Derik was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. This type of cancer has a good survival rate, but it has metastasized in Derik’s case. His doctors are positive and have a good care plan. He is receiving treatment - both chemo and radiation, to start with. His insurance will only cover so much, and the bills are already piling up. We are hoping to raise enough money to cover his out-of-pocket medical expenses, which are well into the thousands already.

Derik’s family (his parents, sister, and close family friends) are amazing people and the love between them is a joy to witness. And they are all scared right now. We want to surround them with our love, prayers, and support, as well as a promise that we are all here for Derik and them. We love you guys!!!
