**Support Derek During His Open-Heart Surgery Recovery**

Dear Friends & Family of the Smiths,

We are reaching out to you on behalf of our dear friend, Derek, who is about to undergo a critical open-heart surgery to replace a valve. As a personal trainer & life coach and the primary breadwinner for his family, Derek relies heavily on his physical health to support his loved ones. This surgery, while life-saving and life-improving, will require an extended recovery period, during which he won't be able to work.

The surgery, scheduled for September 4th, will be followed by a stay in the ICU for 1-2 days, and then a week in the hospital as he begins his recovery. Once home, Derek will need to rest and follow strict physical limitations, including a weight restriction of just 10 lbs for the first 4 weeks, and 15 lbs for the next 4 weeks. Full recovery is expected to take 12 weeks.

As you can imagine, this will be a challenging time for him and his family. He hopes to get back to work as soon as possible, but he needs to follow doctors order and the financial strain of everyday living expenses will be significant. We are asking for your support to help ease this burden, allowing Derek to focus on his recovery without the added stress of worrying about how to provide for his family.
