Our family is facing an unexpected and overwhelming challenge. Our son, Derek, was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, a diagnosis that has turned our world upside down. He is currently expected to remain hospitalized for at least a month as he begins intensive treatment. During this time, Derek will be unable to work and will be facing significant medical expenses as he focuses entirely on fighting this disease.

After his release from the hospital, Derek could continue to require weekly chemotherapy treatments. These ongoing appointments, along with extreme fatigue and a compromised immune system, could limit his ability to return to work full time and maintain normal income.
