Hi, my name is Codi Dittrich, Derek's brother, and I'm raising funds to support Derek during an incredibly difficult and unexpected medical journey. Recently, Derek was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer that was found in his prostate but originated from another source. Over the past year alone, he has endured four surgeries, with the most recent being extensive and life-altering. Doctors removed his appendix, part of his colon, several lymph nodes, and his entire prostate. He also underwent an intensive chemotherapy wash of the surrounding area to reduce the risk of the cancer returning, with the possibility of additional chemotherapy in the future.

As a result of these surgeries and ongoing recovery, Derek has been unable to work and faces mounting medical bills, lost income, and everyday living expenses. This fundraiser is to help relieve that financial burden so he can focus fully on healing and regaining his strength.
