Derek Ryan Helm, 40, of Cannelton, IN, passed on to his Heavenly home on Wednesday July 31, 2024 at Perry County Memorial Hospital. Derek was born on July 27, 1984 in Perry County, IN to his mother Louise Helm and father Norman Hays. He enjoyed camping, fishing, riding bikes, cooking out, traveling, hiking and going to the Casino. He was preceded in death by his second father Curtis Tate.

Derek suffered from mental illness.
