Pictured above with his boys, Derek is fighting hard against Stage 4 metastatic bladder cancer that has spread to his lungs and bones. If you know Derek or as I like to call him 40 oz D, you know he is facing this challenge with humor, hope and maybe a beer or two. Of course his family and friends are by his side, and we (Jen Vercelli, Jared Gallo and Kristin Copple) are creating this GoFundMe to help out with the family's medical expenses. We are just at the beginning of this journey and treatment (chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy), home health workers, hospital visits and medication will run in to the thousands. Derek's wife Serena has always been my rock and I want to do my best to support her and Derek and the boys through this. The family will be so grateful for anything contributed.
