My name is Derek, and I’m raising funds to support my 9-year-old son, Derek Jr, as he pursues his passion for basketball. I’ve included a short video to give insight into the hard work paying off. Winter Season Highlights

Over the past two years, Derek Jr has dedicated himself to the sport, spending countless hours in the gym—whether it’s training after school, practicing with his team, or watching the high school players compete. Basketball has become more than just a game for him; it’s a place where he can compete, build bonds with his teammates, and grow both on and off the court.

Last year, Derek Jr started playing travel ball and has made incredible progress. His hard work has paid off, with his team winning two local tournaments—the Metro Celtics Winter League and the Charm City DMV Snowball Classic—and finishing second in the MIT tournament. The upcoming AAU basketball season brings new opportunities, but also new expenses. The registration fees cover gym time, tournament fees, and uniforms, all of which are essential for Derek Jr to continue playing at this level.

It would mean the world to Derek Jr for his community to support him on this journey. He is truly dedicated, spending 6-7 days a week working to improve and be the best teammate he can be.
