My name is Adrian Hernandez, and I am an assistant coach for the Under-14 Deportivo Michoacán OC team that plays in the Mesa Verde Youth Soccer League here in Santa Ana. Recently, our team has been deeply affected by the deportation of the parents of two of our players. When our young athletes see their teammates going through something so painful, it impacts the entire team. The emotional and psychological toll is real, and as coaches we do our best to support them, using soccer as a space where they can process their feelings, find joy, and experience a positive escape from the fear and hardships many immigrant families are facing.
I have been doing what I can personally to support the families affected, but I realize that this is something I cannot do alone. I have never asked for financial help like this before, but I am reaching out to our broader community in the hope that others might join me in supporting these kids. Your donation will help cover essential team expenses such as league fees, jerseys, and equipment so that these young players can continue to participate in the sport they love.
Recently, our team faced a moment where it seemed like we might not be able to continue playing, and it reminded us how quickly something meaningful can be taken away. But it also showed us something beautiful—that there is a caring community willing to stand with young people during difficult times. We humbly ask for your support so our Latino youth players can continue to play, grow, and find strength through soccer.
All donations will be received by me and shared transparently with the team’s coaching staff to ensure that every dollar goes directly toward supporting the needs of our players.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
God bless.
All donations will be received by me but will be shared in a transparent manner with the coaches of the team to be able to put it fully towards the needs of our kids.
Thank you so much. God bless.
