A Wheelchair for Denver
Donation protected
A couple of years ago my parents surprised me with a trip to St. Lucia. I had always dreamed of going there and little did I know that this trip was a sign to help someone.
While we were there, we became friendly with our taxi driver and he told us about his grandson Denver, who has a disability. Denver uses a wheelchair and unfortunately it has been broken for a long time and they cannot use it outside the house. The family does not have the funds to purchase him a new one, so they must carry him everywhere they go. When I heard his story, it struck me in my heart.
To me, this is not fair. Denver needs access to his community and be able to leave his house and be independent. If they have a wheelchair, it would mean everything to his family and freedom for Denver. My family decided to help this family and we have been in contact with them since, supporting in whatever way we can.
